Effective Leadership Skills
Objective
To provide managers with a framework for managing their team effectively, maximising long term performance.
By the end of the workshop, managers will:-
- Have a clear structure and model for managing their team and identify the areas for greater focus in their own leadership of teams by exploring John Adair's Action centred leadership model
- Be able to set clear goals, objectives and standards for their staff
- Know the steps and approach they need to adopt in monitoring and maintaining performance.
- Know the steps and approach that they need to take to address and correct performance issues with their staff
- Be able to explain the employment legislation principles that apply to managing staff.
- Identify the appropriate leadership style for given situations with their team / individual members by exploring Paul Heresy's' & Ken Blanchard's' the Situational leadership model
- Identify practical steps that can be taken to enable a motivated and engaged team of individuals that deliver sustainable high performance.
- Identify the capability requirements of their team and their role in the development of their people, including induction, coaching and mentoring.
- Be able to demonstrate effective delegation principles
- Be able to explain the process for managing people through change.

- Day 1 - Leadership models, setting and maintaining standards, Managing performance, Motivation, Employment law. Processes for managing performance
- Day 2 - Developing your people, Induction, coaching, delegation, managing people through change
